The week also saw a surge of interest in the disputed sale of the state-owned shares in Slovenia's top grocer Mercator after a weekly reported about an alleged secret meeting between PM Janez Jansa and Mercator's buyers. Bird flu edged closer to Slovenia with cases reported in neighbouring Croatia.
