MONDAY, 24 October
LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to stage a press conference to explain his views on Kosovo.
LJUBLJANA - UK Deputy PM John Prescott is to wrap up his two-day visit to Slovenia by meeting FM Dimitrij Rupel and PM Janez Jansa.
LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to begin its October session by addressing MP questions to PM Janez Jansa and other cabinet members. The session is to end on Friday.
KOPER - The supervisory board of the port operator Luka Koper is to appoint a new management board after the company's long-time general manager Bruno Korelic resigned in July.
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - EU agriculture ministers are to begin a two-day meeting to discuss bird flu and sugar reform. Slovenian Agriculture Minister Marija Lukacic to attend.
LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology is to present the 7th European framework programme for research. Science and Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik and Higher Education Minister Jure Zupan to attend.
BLED - A two-day international conference entitled "European Manufacturing - Quo Vadis?" to be opened by Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak.
SLOVENJ GRADEC - The main ceremony to mark UN Day is to take place, with FM Dimitrij Rupel set to deliver a keynote speech.
LJUBLJANA - The government's Office for Religious Communities is to stage a debate with members of religious communities in Slovenia, where opposition MP Ales Gulic will present his bill on religious communities. Head of the office Drago Cepar will present the government's position on it.
KOPER - The second part of a meeting on the economic role of minorities in Italy and Slovenia, expected to be attended by Slovenian FM Dimitrij Rupel.
NOVA GORICA - European Regional Economic Forum, to be staged by the City of Nova Gorica later in the week, is to be presented at a press conference.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Writers' Association is to stage a debate on the impact of the proposed government reforms on culture and social rights.
TUESDAY, 25 October
LJUBLJANA - A joint press conference by Slovenian trade unions to present plans for a strike against the government reforms, which, they claim, aim to curb workers' economic and social rights.
GORIZIA, Italy - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to meet Mayor of Gorizia Vittorio Brancati, representatives of the Slovenian minority and the head of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, Riccardo Illy.
ATHENS, Greece - Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak it so attend a meeting of his counterparts from the EU and SE Europe, to sign an agreement on establishing a community on energy.
VIENNA, Austria - A meeting of presidents of parliament, to be attended by the president of the Slovenian upper chamber, Janez Susnik.

VADUZ, Liechtenstein - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to start a two-day visit to Liechtenstein, attending the Liechtenstein Dialogue 2005 conference and holding bilateral talks with the country's representatives.
LJUBLJANA - The 14th anniversary of the departure of the last soldier of the Yugoslav People's Army from Slovenia.
MENGES - A press conference is to precede a symposium marking 175 years of birth and 100 years of death of Janez Trdina, one of Slovenia's most important writers and ethnologists.
MARIBOR - The 40th Borstnik Theatre Festival, the country's leading theatre festival, is to wrap up with the announcement of the winner of this year's Golden Borstnik Ring for lifetime achievement in acting.
THURSDAY, 27 October
