Parliament Passes the Bill on Self-Governing National Communities

In two week's time, a law on national minorities in Slovenia, the so-called Law on Self-Governing National Communities, which guarantees rights to Italian (in south-western region) and Hungarian (north-east) minorities, comes into effect. The law, which was adopted by Parliament on October 5, was approved by parliamentary representatives of both national minorities, Roberto Battelli (Italian) and Marija Pozsonec (Hungrian).
