Upcoming referendums to be held on 9 June, committees decide

The parliamentary committees for health and home affairs decided in separate sessions on Friday that the referendums on assisted dying, the use of cannabis and the preferential vote in geenral election be held on 9 June alongside EU election. The motions were carried by the coalition Freedom Movement and the Italian minority MP.

KNOVS not sure whether Golob influenced Russian spy arrest date

Economy Ministry State Secretary Dejan Židan took part in Friday's meeting of EU ministers in charge of consumer protection, discussing ways to establish a fair and effective common market that benefits consumers. Among other things, the ministers discussed introducing a mechanism to provide information about used cars to prevent fraud.

The SBI TOP index on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange gained 0.46% to close at 1,422.27 points on Friday, generating a turnover of EUR 2.3 million. The bank NLB accounted for nearly EUR 1.2 million in volumes.

US-Slovenia strategic dialogue discusses disinformation, space science

The group for strategic dialogue between Slovenia and the US held its fourth meeting in Ljubljana on Friday, which discussed global security issues and cooperation in various fields, including space exploration. The countries' representatives also signed a memorandum on measures against foreign manipulation of information.
