Hefty EUR 6m in deals concluded on stock market

Brokers on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange generated EUR 6 million in turnover on Friday as blue chips mostly traded in positive territory. NLB bank gained more than 4% and accounted for almost EUR 3.6 million of the daily volume after announcing a takeover bid for Austrian Addiko Bank. The SBI TOP index added 1.47% to close at 2,891.76 points.

FinMin says development bill proposed by third bloc unfeasible

Finance Minister Klemen Boštjančič has responded to the emergency development bill proposed by the Democrats-New Slovenia (NSi)-Truth trio by saying that it is unfeasible in its present form. A quick calculation has also shown that it would result in more than a billion euros less budget revenue, while increasing expenditure.

Beekeepers getting protective equipment against bears

SBI TOP, the benchmark index of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, slipped 0.51% on Thursday to close at 2,849.95 points, as port operator Luka Koper and energy company Petrol lost more than 2%. Total turnover reached EUR 2.13 million, with pharma maker Krka accounting for nearly EUR 825,000.

Q1 budget deficit widens as spending on wages, transfers rises
