One referee and two assistant referees from Slovenia have been included in the list of match officials for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. Slavko Vinčić was named one of the 52 referees, while Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič will be his assistants at the competition in Canada, Mexico and the US starting in just over two months.

Following a scandal in the ski jumping world in which Slovenian champion Domen Prevc was disqualified after his skis slid down the inrun during competition, the International Ski Federation (FIS) and the Slovenian Ski Association (SZS) have reached agreement to set up a task force to review and upgrade the rules.
