Tourist arrivals and nights up in March and Q1

Tourist accommodation facilities recorded nearly 337,400 arrivals and just over 841,400 nights in March, up 21.6% and 17.6%, respectively, in a year. Tourists most often spent the night in the municipalities of Ljubljana, Piran and Bled, while the largest numbers of tourists visited municipalities with spas, Statistics Office data shows.

Yaskawa lays foundation stone for new facilities

The Japanese robotics company Yaskawa has laid the foundation stone for two new facilities next to its existing plant in Kočevje. With the EUR 32 million investment the company is expanding its activity in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said Yaskawa Europe Robotics director Hubert Kosler.

SID Banka net profit almost doubles to EUR 15.6m last year

The SID Banka national export and development bank generated a net profit of EUR 15.6 million last year, which is 90% more than in 2022, while loans to the non-banking sector increased by 3% to EUR 1.43 billion, SID Banka reported on Wednesday.

SBI TOP up in mixed trading

Big cap stocks had a mixed day on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Wednesday. While drug maker Krka and insurance stocks lost ground, NLB bank and energy group Petrol ended in the black. Volumes reached EUR 1.7 million.
