Slovenian cyclist Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) put up an excellent effort in the last stage of the Tour of the Basque Country on Saturday to win the six-stage race for the second time in his career. His younger compatriot Tadej Pogačar was third overall.

Another 1,250 people tested positive for coronavirus in Slovenia on Friday in a total of 4,730 PCR tests for a positivity rate of 26.5%, an increase of two percentage points compared to the day before. Hospitalisations were meanwhile down by 13 to 605, while 12 Covid-19 patients died, the highest daily number since 29 March.

Comparative literature expert Aleš Vaupotič has been appointed the new director of Moderna Galerija, the national museum of modern art, for a five-year term starting on 6 April, the Culture Ministry has confirmed for the STA following media reports.
