Prime Minister Marjan Šarec met Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz in Vienna on Wednesday, praising good relations between the two countries, in particular economic cooperation. Nevertheless, countries have certain issues, but "they're nothing we couldn't tackle," Šarec acknowledged.

Foreign Minister Miro Cerar has announced a discussion in Slovenia on the developments regarding the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), as the Russian breach of the treaty and the possibility of the US withdrawing from it is a serious security threat for European countries and potentially also for Slovenia.

Employers were urged to raise pay for all workers and to enter talks on new collective bargaining agreements, as ZSSS and Pergam, the two largest trade union associations in Slovenia, staged a protest rally in front of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) in Ljubljana on Wednesday.

The tender of the national motorway company DARS for a second tube of the Karavanke motorway tunnel between Slovenia and Austria seems in danger of sliding into a spiral of appeals. The Turkish contractor Cengiz Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret, whose selection by DARS has been annulled by the National Review Commission, insists its bid remains relevant.

Slovenia saw the number of people registered as being out of work decrease by 0.2% in November to 76,099, as much as 7.7% fewer than a year ago.
