SMC indicates talks with LMŠ derailed

The executive committee of New Slovenia (NSi) has decided to give its head Matej Tonin and his team full support in the Democrats (SDS)-led negotiations on a new government. Tonin now has the mandate to negotiate on the programme and staffing decisions of the potential new government.

Doctors do not want to be dependent on industry donations

Doctors in Slovenia are obligated by law to attend medical seminars and training courses to get acquainted with the latest know-how and technologies but the state does not cover the costs of such training. This means they are dependent on industry donations, which doctors say is legalised corruption.

Defence minister attending NATO ministerial

Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to participate on Wednesday in a two-day meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels. The ministerial will discuss relations with Russia and strengthening stability in the Middle East, most notably in Iraq as well as in Afghanistan.
