Slovenia still hoping Cimos deal can be salvaged

Slovenia is hopeful the privatisation of Cimos can proceed after Croatian Finance Minister Zdravko Marić told Slovenia's Mateja Vraničar Erman on Tuesday that Croatia no longer had any reservations about the deal. The matter "can still be resolved favourably," Vraničar Erman said.

European Parliament head Tajani to visit Slovenia on 3 March

The new President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, is to visit Slovenia on 3 March, his spokesperson Delia Vlase confirmed on Tuesday. She said the primary purpose of the visit was the opening of the new information centre of the European Parliament and Commission in Ljubljana.

Slovenian banks almost tripled net profit in 2016

Banks in Slovenia almost tripled net profit to EUR 344.3m in 2016. Profit before tax was up by almost 140% to EUR 379.4m. Banks' revenue was lower than in 2015, while profit was up due to lower impairments and provisions.

FM meeting Carinthian governor over provincial constitution
