Drnovsek Wins Presidential Elections

Ljubljana, 1 December - The 52-year-old long-time Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek of the LDS was elected Slovenia's new president in Sunday's run-off. According to unofficial results, he won against his rival Barbara Brezigar, backed by two opposition parties and voters' signatures, with a fairly convincing lead of around 13 percent.
