Local Elections See a Number of Surprises, United List Comes Out on Top

Ljubljana, 1 December - The run-offs for mayors in six town municipalities have seen a number of surprises, none bigger than in Slovenia's capital, where incumbent mayor Vika Potocnik has lost. Her post is to be assumed by current member of parliament Danica Simsic of the United List (ZLSD). Simsic's socially-oriented party was the biggest winner of the local elections, taking three of the six mayoral posts in Slovenian cities on Sunday.
