Some 800 full-time jobs in sport at risk

The Slovenian Olympic Committee (OKS) has welcomed the proposed fiscal stimulus package, while noting that sport organisations in Slovenia have so far recorded a drop in expected revenue of more than EUR 25 million. A survey has also shown that around 800 full-time jobs in the sport industry are at risk.

Mini basketball tournament kicks off amid coronavirus

During the coronavirus lockdown, a new sport has emerged in Slovenia to entertain basketball enthusiasts in self-isolation or those practising social distance - mini indoor basketball. Slovenia welcomes decision to postpone Summer Olympics

Slovenian Olympic Committee (OKS) president Bogdan Gabrovec welcomed the decision to postpone the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, which had been scheduled for 24 July-9 August. He said that common sense had prevailed and that it was athletes who would benefit the most from the decision, which took a huge burden off their backs.
