Roglič wins his second Tour of the Basque Country, Pogačar 3rd

Slovenian cyclist Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) put up an excellent effort in the last stage of the Tour of the Basque Country on Saturday to win the six-stage race for the second time in his career. His younger compatriot Tadej Pogačar was third overall.

Slovenia wraps up first stage of European U-21 championship

The group stage of the European Under-21 Championship co-hosted by Slovenia and Hungary between 24 and 31 March has been successfully wrapped up after delivering a taste of future European football superstars. Slovenia are out of the competition, but the country will co-host the second phase of the tournament in two months.

Slovenian youth football team out of European championship

Slovenia are out of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship with two losses and one draw, the second and decisive loss coming in Maribor on Tuesday evening at the hands of Italy. Slovenia continues to co-host the tournament with Hungary, with the elimination round scheduled for 31 May-6 June.

Jure Zdovc second Slovenian in FIBA Hall of Fame

Slovenian basketball coach and former player Jure Zdovc will be inducted in the FIBA Hall of Fame as part of the 2020 class. He is only the second Slovenian to make it to museum honouring people who have greatly contributed to international competitive basketball after Ivo Daneu.
