Slovenia fail to qualify for the Olympic basketball tournament

Slovenia will not appear in the basketball tournament at the Paris Olympic Games, having been routed by the home favourites Greece 68:96 in the semi-finals of the FIBA qualifiers in Piraeus on Saturday. To qualify, they would have to win the qualifying tournament.

Pahor continues to bid for Belgrade-Pristina post

Borut Pahor, Slovenia's former president, remains willing to take up the post of the EU's next representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue even after the EU's outgoing foreign policy chief Josep Borrell left it up to his successor to make the nomination, extending the mandate of the current representative Miroslav LajĨak.

Miran Pavlin to join Nottingham Forest as technical director

Miran Pavlin, currently director of national teams at the Slovenian Football Association (NZS), will become technical director of Nottingham Forest, the newspaper Delo has reported. This will make him the first Slovenian to serve on the management of an English Premier League club.
