The post-war murderous hysteria has left a fatal mark on the Slovenian nation, said former National Assembly President France Cukjati as addressed the annual commemoration for an estimated 5,000 victims of war and post-war summary executions at the Teharje Memorial Park near Celje on Sunday.

The government has decided to send to flood-stricken Bosnia-Herzegovina a rescue unit trained for urban areas and a rescue dog unit, the Government Communication Office (UKOM) said on Sunday after a correspondence session. The rescuers have already departed for Bosnia, and will be there until next Sunday.

A researcher from the Slovenian marine mammal research association Morigenos has taken part in an international expedition to the distant Pitcairn Islands to study the mysterious humpback whales there. New research into the Pitcairn Islands whales could contribute to a better understanding of how they live, Morigenos said.
