KIEV, Ukraine - President Janez Drnovsek is to be in Ukraine to take part in the founding of a forum designed to promote democracy. He is also expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Georgian President Mikhail Sakhashvili.
LJUBLJANA - A bilateral commission of Slovenian and Croatian historians, tasked with writing a report on the relations between the two nations from the middle of the 19th century to 1991, is to hold its second session. A press conference by the heads of the commission, Slovenia's Janko Prunk and Croatia's Dusan Bilandzic, is scheduled for 4 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The Economic Social Council, a forum uniting employers, unions and the government, is to hold a session to debate the package of structural reforms; begins at 9 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - A team of veterinary inspectors from the Food and Veterinary Office of the European Commission is to wrap up a two-week visit to Slovenia. Director of the Slovenian Veterinary Administration Vida Cadonic Spelic is to present the results of the team's checks in Slovenia at 2:30 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary EU affairs committee is to hold a closed-doors session to debate Slovenia's standpoints for upcoming meetings of the EU Council for Transport, Telecommunications and Energy, Council for Economic and Financial Affairs and the Council for Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Protection.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary committee on the economy is to convene for a session at 9 AM to debate the government-sponsored changes to the trade act that would limit the opening hours of shops on Sundays.
BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - Parliament Speaker France Cukjati and National Council President Janez Susnik are to attend the final day of a meeting of parliament speakers from Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to take part in the Luxembourg Financial Forum.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Justice Ministry State Secretary Robert Marolt is to take part in a meeting of EU justice ministers. Data retention is on the agenda of the meeting.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Environment Minister Janez Podobnik is to represent Slovenia at the session of the EU Environment Council.
CACAK, Serbia-Montenegro - Slovenia's leading grocer is to open a shopping centre in the Serbian town of Cacak; at 2 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The opposition National Party (SNS) is to outline its proposal for abolishing permanent judicial tenure at a press conference scheduled for 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The results of a survey on the number and role of non-governmental organisations in 2004 are to be presented in the National Council at noon.
MARIBOR - MEP and former Estonian foreign minister Toomas Hendrik Ilves is to be on a visit to Slovenia.
