Ljubljana, 14 December - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 15 December:

BRUSSELS, Belgim - EU leaders, including Slovenian PM Janez Jansa are to meet for a summit to try and reach agreement on the block's next spending plan. Jansa will be accompanied by FM Dimitrij Rupel and EU Affairs State Secretary Marcel Koprol. He is to speak to the press at 5 PM. (STA)

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec and Chief-of-Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces Ladislav Lipic are to visit Slovenian soldiers taking part in the EUFOR. The pair are also due to meet NATO commander, General Louis Weber and EUFOR commander, Major General Gian Marco Chiarini.

HONG KONG, China - Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak and a delegation are attending a six-day WTO ministerial which will try to bring the Doha round of world trade liberalisation talks to an end.

LJUBLJANA - The National Council is to take a vote at an extraordinary session on whether to stage a referendum on the changes to the income tax act. The parliament passed the changes once again last week after the National Council vetoed them; at 3 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Marc Danzon, the head of the European WHO office, is to arrive on a two-day official visit to discuss with Health Minister Andrej Brucan cooperation between WHO and Slovenia, as well as the opening of a WHO office in Slovenia. An agreement between the ministry and the regional office is to be signed on Friday.

LJUBLJANA - Environment Minister Janez Podobnik is to present to the press at 11:30 AM the conclusions of the 11th conference on the UN climate change and the first conference of the Kyoto Protocol signatories, which took place between 29 Nov and 9 Dec in Montreal.

LJUBLJANA - Environment Minister Janez Podobnik is to attend a panel on sustainable development, quality in the companies, social responsibility and responsibility of the companies toward the environment. The event, organised by the company Bureau Veritas, is to begin at 6 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The management of the Chamber of Commerce (GZS) is hold a session at 2 PM to review the results of the talks between the GZS and the Economics Ministry on a bill on the chambers of commerce.

MARIBOR - A panel on problems faced by the Roma in the municipality of Maribor is to be hosted by the municipality and Maribor police at 9 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate is to visit the Asylum Centre at 3:30 PM. (STA)

TREVISO, Italy - Union Olimpija are to take on Italy's Benetton Treviso in the 7th round of the Euroleague basketball competition. (STA)
