Ljubljana, 8 January - Schedule of events in the week from 9 to 15 January:

MONDAY, 9 January
        LJUBLJANA - The social partners - the government, employers and trade unions - to begin talks on a new social agreement for the 2006-2009 period.
        LJUBLJANA - Opposition Social Democrats (SD) to stage a press conference, where leader Borut Pahor and former Labour Minister Vlado Dimovski are to present their views on social agreement talks, a chambers of commerce bill and other topical issues.
        BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro - A delegation from the city of Nova Gorica (W), headed by Mayor Marko Brulc, to meet Belgrade Mayor Nenad Bogdanovic on maintaining the grave of Slovenian aviation pioneer Edvard Rusjan, who is buried in Belgrade.
        LJUBLJANA - Representatives of the Renault Nissan Slovenija company to talk to the press.

TUESDAY, 10 January
        LJUBLJANA - Parliament to begin a two-day extraordinary session to discuss the appointment of new members of the Programming Council of the national broadcaster RTV Slovenija, as well as take a re-vote on the amendments to the trade act and on the wine act. Both were vetoed last month by the National Council.
        LJUBLJANA - Montenegro FM Miodrag Vlahovic to pay a working visit to Slovenia, hosted by his Slovenian counterpart Dimitrij Rupel.
        LJUBLJANA - Press conference by the Institute for Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (IMAD), where IMAD's head Janez Sustersic is to comment on the economic situation in Slovenia in 2005.
        LJUBLJANA - Press conference by the Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia (ZSSS) to highlight several findings of the Dublin-based European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions on the impact the restructuring of industry would have on the employment in the EU.

WEDNESDAY, 11 January
        LJUBLJANA - A joint session of the parliamentary foreign policy and European affairs committees. Austria's Ambassador Valentin Inzko to present his country's priorities during its six-month stint as EU president.
        LJUBLJANA - The new government office for the coordination and implementation of economic reforms to present its team and key areas of work.
        LJUBLJANA - The Environment Ministry to present its plans for 2006 at a press conference.
        LJUBLJANA - Poultry breeder Perutnina Ptuj to present its results for 2005 at a press conference.
        VITORIA, Spain - Union Olimpija, currently last in Group A of basketball's Euroleague, to play against Spain's Tau Ceramica.

THURSDAY, 12 January
        LJUBLJANA - The cabinet to hold the weekly session.
        VIENNA, Austria - FM Dimitrij Rupel to take part in a two-day meeting of the OSCE ministerial troika, as Belgium takes over the chairmanship of the security organisation.
        LJUBLJANA - The Trade Association at the Chamber of Commerce (GZS) to stage a panel on double pricing.

FRIDAY, 13 January
        VIENNA, Austria - EU interior ministers to meet for a two-day informal meeting; a Slovenian delegation expected to take part.
        KRSKO - Slovenian environmental NGOs to stage a panel on nuclear waste.
        LJUBLJANA - A ceremony to be held to announce Slovenian Car of the Year chosen by newspaper readers and radio listeners.

SATURDAY, 14 January
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenian women's handball champions Krim to take on Spain's Orsan Elda Prestigio in the second round of handball's Champions League.
