Ljubljana, 14 January - The government made a great stir with a decision to send soldiers to Iraq to train Iraqi security forces there in a move seen by its opponents as a U-turn in Slovenian foreign policy. The decision overshadowed President Janez Drnovsek's efforts to find a lasting solution to the crisis in Darfur, and stole some spotlight to the appointment of the governing and supervisory bodies of the public broadcaster, which was at the core of a controversy last year and resulted in a new RTV Slovenija act being put to a referendum.
