Schedule of Events for Tuesday, 17 January

PARIS, France - President Janez Drnovsek is to travel to France as part of his effort to revive international efforts to end the humanitarian crisis in the Sudanese region of Darfur. Drnovsek is scheduled to hold separate meetings with France's Foreign Minister Phillippe Douste-Blazy and Senate President Christian Poncelet. After the talks, Drnovsek will also attend a celebration in honour of acclaimed scientist, anthropologist and UN Ambassador Jane Goodall, who is to receive France's top honour, the Legion of Honour.

LJUBLJANA - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to hold a press conference to defend the government's decision to send four army instructors to Iraq. (STA)

BRDO PRI KRANJU - State Secretary for European Affairs Marcel Koprol is to hold a working lunch with the ambassadors of the EU countries to Slovenia.

LJUBLJANA - Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to talk to the press about topical issues; at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Rating firm I and international rating firm Dun&Bradstreet are to confer the title of best-rating company in 2004 on three Slovenian companies at a ceremony at 1:30 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The executive council of the Trade Chamber is to hold a session at 11 AM to discuss the government-sponsored bill on chambers of commerce.

KOPER - The supervisory board of logistics company Intereuropa is to hold a session at which it is expected to appoint the three-member management board.

MARIBOR - The 5th Triennial of Slovenian Contemporary Art is to be presented to the press at 5 PM at the Umetnostna galerija Maribor gallery.
