Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 14 to 20 January

Ljubljana, 21 January - The third week of January was a busy time for Slovenian politicians and pundits, as the debate over the government's controversial decision to send four military instructurs to Iraq flared up and provoked harsh reactions from the ranks of the opposition. Somewhat surprisingly, President Janez Drnovsek endorsed the decision as well, although he way busy with yet another international project: after arousing attention with his initiative for Kosovo status talks last year, he is now busy mustering support for a humanitarian action in Darfur.
