Ljubljana, 26 January - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 27 January:

LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to speak to the press at noon to present additional aspects of his humanitarian project for the Sudanese region of Darfur and unveil a new home policy initiative. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Slovak Interior Minister is to pay a visit at the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Dragutin Mate. Talks are to focus on the implementation of Schengen border standards, illegal migrations and cooperation in the fight against organised crime, terrorism and drug trafficking. Press statements are scheduled for 11:35 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to outline the ministry's agenda for 2006 at a press conference due at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce (GZS) is to present the corporate sector's positions on the negotiations on a new social agreement, which are to start shortly. A press conference is scheduled for 10:30 AM. (STA)

BUDAPEST, Hungary - Labour Minister Janez Drobnic is to attend a meeting of labour ministers from the Visegrad group at the invitation of Hungarian Minister for Employment and Labour Gabor Csizmar.

LJUBLJANA - The college of deputy group leaders is to meet at noon to set the agenda of the regular parliament session which starts on Monday, 30 January.

LJUBLJANA - Parliament's EU affairs committee is to meet at 2 PM to review government standpoints for Monday's session of the EU's General Affairs and External Relations Council (GAERC). A press statement is scheduled for 4 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Results of the latest Politbarometer public opinion survey are to be presented at a press conference scheduled for 12:30 PM. (STA)

GORNJA RADGONA - Development Minister Joze P. Damijan is to stage a presentation of the government-sponsored economic and social reforms at the invitation of the Business Development Agency Gornja Radgona; at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti and Austrian Ambassador to Slovenia Valentin Inzko are to unveil at 7:45 AM a bust of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to mark the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth. This will be a symbolic gesture, as the bust will remain standing only for the day.

LJUBLJANA - The Council of Christian Churches, which comprises the Catholic, Serb Orthodox and Lutheran Evangelical Churches, is to make a statement at 12:30 PM declaring 2006 the year of the Bible.

ST. GALLEN, Switzerland - Slovenia will play Ukraine in round two of qualifying at the European Handball Championships. The Group A match starts at 6:30 PM. (STA)
