MONDAY, 30 January
        LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to begin its regular session, to end on Friday, 10 February.
        BUCHAREST, Romania - President Janez Drnovsek is to begin a two-day official visit to Romania.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - EU foreign ministers are to meet, with Slovenia's FM Dimitrij Rupel also to meet Jason Isaacson of the American Jewish Committee.
        VIENNA, Austria - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate and Justice Minister Lovro Sturm are to attend a meeting of their counterparts from Austria and the EU members that are to chair the EU in the next few years.
        THE VATICAN - Together with his counterparts from Austria, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, Slovenia's Speaker of the National Assembly France Cukjati is to take part in Pope Benedict XVI's audience.
        TRIESTE, Italy - The political society Edinost is to present a petition to secure the Slovenian minority in Italy elected representation.
        LJUBLJANA - The Government Office for Religious Communities is to organise a consultation on how to define the cooperation between NGOs and religious communities.
        LJUBLJANA - The Peace Institute, an independent research institute, is to host a forum on the planned government-sponsored reforms.
        LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian and Croatian ministers of culture, Vasko Simoniti and Bozo Biskupic, respectively are to open an exhibition of contemporary Croatian drawings.

TUESDAY, 31 January
        LJUBLJANA - The Statistical Office to present birth rate figures for Slovenia in the last 100 years.
        LJUBLJANA - Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to present a publication about intolerance in Slovenia.
        LJUBLJANA - The board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to discuss a government-sponsored bill on chambers of commerce; a plan of the GZS's restructuring; and its positions for talks on a new social agreement for the period between 2006 and 2009.
        LJUBLJANA - Aerodrom Ljubljana, the company operating Ljubljana's international airport Brnik, is to reveal the name of a new budget airliner to fly to Brnik.
        LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Cinematheque is to give a news conference a day prior to its reopening following an extensive renovation that lasted over a year and a half.

WEDNESDAY, 1 February
        BOLOGNA, Italy - Slovenia's Union Olimpija are to play Climamio Bologna in the strongest European basketball club competition, the Euroleague, at 8:45 PM; round 13, group A.

THURSDAY, 2 February
        LJUBLJANA - Speaker of the Swedish Parliament Bjoern von Sydow is to begin a two-day visit.
        LJUBLJANA - Government's weekly session.
        LJUBLJANA - The Peace Institute and the Info Centre of the Council of Europe are to host a panel on the media.
        LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to give out awards for outstanding business achievement.
        LJUBLJANA - An exhibition of gouaches by acclaimed painter Zoran Music (1909-2005) is to open at the Mala galerija gallery.

FRIDAY, 3 February
        LJUBLJANA - The Museum of Architecture is to host an exhibition on 100 years of chair design in the Kamnik-based chair factory, Stol Kamnik.

SATURDAY, 4 February
        DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Health Minister Andrej Brucan is to attend an international conference on the management of chemicals; through 6 February.

SUNDAY, 5 February
