Ljubljana, 29 January - Below is a schedule of events for Monday, 30 January:

LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to begin a two-week regular session with a Q&A session at 3 PM, before which it is to decided whether to expand it with a debate on the government's decision to send four soldiers to Iraq. (STA)

BUCHAREST, Romania - President Janez Drnovsek is to begin a two-day official visit to Romania. After meeting his Romanian counterpart Traian Basescu, the pair is to speak to the press at 12:25 PM. (STA)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - EU foreign ministers are to meet for a regular session, with Slovenia's FM Dimitrij Rupel also to meet Jason Isaacson of the American Jewish Committee at 4:30 PM.

VIENNA, Austria - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate and Justice Minister Lovro Sturm are to attend a meeting of their counterparts from Austria and the EU members that are to chair the EU in the next few years.

THE VATICAN - Together with his counterparts from Austria, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, Slovenia's Speaker of the National Assembly France Cukjati is to take part in an private audience of the Pope Benedict XVI at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The leader of the opposition Social Democrats (SD) Borut Pahor is to speak to the press at 12:30 PM about his party's preparations for this year's local elections, and to comment other topical affairs.

LJUBLJANA - The Government Office for Religious Communities is to organise a consultation on the relationship between NGOs and religious communities, which starts at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The Peace Institute, an independent research institute, is to host a forum on the planned government-sponsored reforms at 7 PM.

TRIESTE, Italy - The political society Edinost is to present a petition to secure the Slovenian minority in Italy elected representation at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - An exhibition of contemporary Croatian drawings is to open at 7 PM at the Mestna galerija Ljubljana, to be attended by Slovenia and Croatia's culture ministers, Vasko Simoniti and Bozo Biskupic.
