Ljubljana, 30 January - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 31 January:

BUCHAREST, Romania - President Janez Drnovsek is to conclude his two-day official visit to Romania with a meeting with PM Calin Tariceanu at 2:30 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to discuss several pieces of legislation in second reading, including changes to the health services act and the administered prices act; the session resumes at 10 AM.

MARIBOR - The supervisory board of newspaper company and publisher Vecer is to discuss the daily Vecer's business results and plans for 2006. Meanwhile, the supervisors may also replace the company's director and editor-in-chief, according to reports.

LJUBLJANA - The board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to discuss a government-sponsored bill on chambers of commerce; a plan of the GZS's restructuring; and its positions for talks on a new social agreement for the period between 2006 and 2009; begins at 2 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The Statistical Office to present birth rate figures for Slovenia in the last 100 years at 10:30 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to present a publication about intolerance in Slovenia at a news conference scheduled for 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - IBM Slovenia is to present its strategy and plans for 2006 at a reception for journalists scheduled for noon.

BRNIK - Aerodrom Ljubljana, the company operating Ljubljana's international airport Brnik, is to reveal the name of a new budget airline to fly to Brnik at a news conference scheduled for 1:30 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Cinematheque is to give a news conference at noon on the eve of its reopening following an extensive renovation that lasted over a year and a half. This will be the first news conference by Cinematheque's new director Stas Ravter. (STA)

BASEL, Switzerland - Slovenia are to play France in the second part of the European Handball Championships, group I. The game gets underway at 5:30 PM. (STA)

KRANJ/MEDVODE - Over 1,000 athletes under 23 from 38 nations will gather in Slovenia from 30 January to 5 February for the FIS Nordic World Championships (ski jumping, cross-country and Nordic combined).
