Lake Cerknica Becomes Wetland of International Importance

Ljubljana, 2 February - February 2, World Wetlands Day, marking the day in 1971 when the Ramsar Convention was signed, will be a special occasion for Slovenia this year, as Lake Cerknica joins the Secovlje salt pans and Skocjan Caves on the Ramsar list of wetlands of international importance.
