MONDAY, 6 February
LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to resume its regular January session with a debate and vote on the controversial changes to the asylum act, and the changes to the state prosecution, among other items on its agenda.
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Environment Minister Janez Podobnik is to attend the 9th special session of the UN Governing Council, and the Global Ministerial Environment Forum. Together with Health Minister Andrej Brucan, he is also to attend the final session of a three-day international conference on handling chemicals.
HELSINKI, Finland - A delegation of the parliamentary commission for Slovenians abroad led by Janez Kramberger is to begin a three-day official visit to Finland to hold meetings with Finnish officials and meet representatives of the Slovenian community in Finland.
LJUBLJANA - The chairman of the parliamentary budget oversight commission Milan M. Cvikl is to talk to the press about Slovenia's sources of funds in the EU.
LJUBLJANA - The European Commission's Representation Office in Slovenia is to present the results of the Eurobarometer public opinion survey for the autumn of 2005.
LJUBLJANA - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm and State Secretary to the Justice Ministry Robert Marolt are to talk to the press about the ministry's plans for 2006.
LJUBLJANA - Transport Minister Janez Bozic is to present to the press the ministry's plans for 2006.
LJUBLJANA - Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti is to hold a press conference to present the ministry's plans for 2006.
LJUBLJANA - The president and vice-president of the opposition Social Democrats (SD) Borut Pahor and Igor Luksic, respectively, are to hold a press conference to discuss certain current issues.
KOPER - "Ameriski koticek" (American Corner), a new cultural and information centre, is to be opened in Koper. US Ambassador to Slovenia Thomas Robertson and Chancellor of Primorsko University Lucija Cok are to talk to the press before the opening.
LJUBLJANA - The publisher Mladinska knjiga is to present to the press the "Golden Book of Simon Gregorcic" dedicated to this famous Slovenian poet (1844-1906).
TUESDAY, 7 February
SEMPETER PRI GORICI - Automotive parts maker Iskra Avtoelektrika is to talk to the press about the company's plans for 2006, the 2006-2009 strategical plan and the takeover of electronics group Iskra.
ROME, Italy - Branko Dervodel of the Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief is to attend a two-day Euromed Bridge meeting. This project is to help set up a Euro-Mediterranean system of protection against natural and other disasters.
LJUBLJANA - The National Electoral Commission is to discuss the results of the referendum on municipalities, which took place on 29 January.
LJUBLJANA - The Defence Ministry is to talk to the press about its plans for 2006.
LJUBLJANA - The 15th Slovenian Advertising Festival, to take place between 29 and 31 March in the coastal town of Portoroz, is to be presented at a press conference.
LJUBLJANA - On the eve of Culture Day, Preseren Awards, the highest national awards for outstanding achievement in arts and culture, will be given out. President Janez Drnovsek, Parliament Speaker France Cukjati, PM Janez Jansa and Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti to attend the ceremony.

GORIZIA, Italy - A special ceremony is to mark 100 years since the death of Simon Gregorcic, famous Slovenian poet (1844-1906).
LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's Union Olimpija are to play Benetton Treviso in the strongest European basketball club competition, the Euroleague; round 14, group A.
THURSDAY, 9 February
BRDO PRI KRANJU - The EU Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn is expected on a two-day visit in Slovenia, where he is to meet FM Dimitrij Rupel.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - A Slovenian delegation headed by Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant is to take part in a ministerial meeting with the EU Commissioner Vladimir Spidla.
TAORMINA, Italy - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to attend an unofficial meeting of NATO defence ministers.
LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its weekly session.

LJUBLJANA - The Government Office for Development is to host a working breakfast to present the time schedule for the government-sponsored economic and social reforms.
