Ljubljana, 21 February - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 22 February:

PTUJ/ORMOZ - The government is to visit several companies and meet local authorities as it visits the NE region of Podravje as part of its ongoing tour of the country's statistical regions. The main press conference is scheduled for 3:45 PM. (STA/PHOTO).

BERLIN, Germany - The deputy head of the Government Office for European Affairs (SVEZ) Katja Rejec Longar, is to attend a meeting of officials from Slovenia, Germany and Portugal, countries scheduled to preside the EU in 2007 and the first half of 2008.

THE VATICAN - Pope Benedict XVI is expected to announce the date of a consistory at which he would appoint new cardinals. As prefect of one of the Vatican's congregations, Slovenian Archbishop Franc Rode can expect to be bestowed this honour.

LJUBLJANA - Major General Atanas Jovcevski, the commander of the Macedonian land forces, is to continue his visit to Slovenia.

LJUBLJANA - Center Evropa is to host a debate on the REACH, the EU's policy on chemicals, starting at 9 AM.

MARIBOR - The start of a two-day conference on electronic security dubbed RiSK, at which security experts will scrutinise the current trends in electronic security and ways to prevent threats; at 9 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Publishing house Mladinska knjiga is to unveil a monograph of painter Rudolf Spanzel at the National Gallery at 6 PM, to be followed by the opening of an exhibition of his works.
