Ljubljana, 23 February - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 23 February:

LJUBLJANA - Weekly cabinet session. The agenda includes amendments to the income tax act and the act on motor vehicle tax. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA/PHOTO).

LJUBLJANA - Representatives of retailers and trade unions are to meet for talks on the opening hours of stores. Economics Minister Andrej Bajuk, the mediator in the talks, is to make a statement at 9:45 AM, with the Retail Trade Union scheduled to address the press at 2 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Environment Minister Janez Podobnik is to hold talks with his counterparts from Muslim-Croat Federation and the Republic of Srpska, Ramiz Mehmedagic and Muhamed Lisic, who will be attending a 9 AM presentation of Slovenia's environment policy.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Education Minister Milan Zver is to attend a session of the EU Council for education, youth and culture.

LJUBLJANA - Macedonian Justice Minister Mladenka Georgievska is to start a three-day visit to Slovenia. Her first stop will be the Ljubljana Faculty of Law.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary committee for foreign policy is to vote on the ratification of an agreement on extradition with Croatia and an accord with Latvia on the fight against terrorism and organised crime. The session starts at 8:30 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The Commission for the Prevention of Corruption is to present the results of the annual survey of the perception of corruption at noon.

LJUBLJANA - Lawmakers of all three opposition parties will be joined by the association of asbestos patients to comment on the government-sponsored act on compensations to asbestos patients; at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Major General Atanas Jovcevski, the commander of the Macedonian land forces, will wrap up his three-day visit to Slovenia.

LJUBLJANA - The expert council of tourism is to convene its maiden session at 3 PM; the 2006-2007 tourism policy guidelines will be on the agenda alongside the 2007-2011 tourism development programme.
