Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 18 to 24 Feb

Ljubljana, 25 February - An eagerly awaited piece of news from the Vatican that Archbishop Franc Rode will be made cardinal was received with much attention. So was President Janez Drnovsek's reviving an idea to hold a WWII conciliatory meeting with his counterparts from Italy and Croatia. This week also saw Slovenian soldiers leaving for Iraq, and the recent bird flu scare calming down despite a second case of deadly H5N1 virus confirmed in a wild bird.
