Ljubljana, 27 February - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 28 February:

LJUBLJANA - The programming council of public broadcaster RTV Slovenija is expected to appoint the new director general at a session which starts at 10 AM. (STA/PHOTO)

TRIESTE, Italy - Transport ministers of Croatia, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia are to meet to discuss the completed work on road and railway infrastructure that is part of the 5th pan-European transport corridor. A press conference is scheduled for 1:10 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The second reading of the act on the elimination of consequences of asbestos is to top the agenda as parliament resumes its February session at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant and Justice Minister State Secretary Robert Marolt are to present amendments to the act on public sector wages which enter into force on 1 March; at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to stage a press conference on topical events at 10 AM.

MARIBOR - Development Minister Joze P. Damijan is to attend a round table debate entitled "Economic and Social Reforms - Opportunities or Risks?", which accompanies the release of the eponymous monograph; at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The National Statistical Office is to present an analysis of the Slovenian labour market in 2005; at 10:30 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The council of the Institute for Pension and Disability Insurance (ZPIZ) is to discuss a draft report for 2005; at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The government Office for Drugs is to present a report on the implementation of declarations on drugs for 2005; at 2 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The executive director of UNICEF Slovenija Maja Vojinovic is to present the first responses to the humanitarian segment of President Janez Drnovsek's proposal for the resolution of the crisis in the Sudanese province of Darfur; at noon.

LJUBLJANA - Education and Sport Minister Milan Zver is to receive at noon the Slovenian team who took part in the Turin Winter Olympics, to be followed by a 2 PM reception by the president of the Slovenian Olympic Committee, Janez Kocijancic.

LARNAKA, Cyprus - Slovenia are to play Cyprus in a friendly football tournament which will bring together eight teams. The Group 2 match begins at 4 PM CET.

LJUBLJANA - The National Gallery will host an exhibition of Erich Mendelsohn (1887-1953), one of the major German architects of the 20th century. The show, put on by the Goethe Institute from Ljubljana, opens at 7 PM and runs through 26 March.
