LJUBLJANA - The President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso is to arrive in Slovenia for a two-day visit. Together with PM Janez Jansa, Barroso will give an interview for public broadcaster TV Slovenija at 9 PM. (STA/PHOTO)
MARIBOR - Croatian Ambassador to Slovenia Mario Nobilo is to hold a lecture on the legal aspects of open issues between Slovenia and Croatia. The lecture, hosted by the Faculty of Law of Maribor, is to begin at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Prime Minister Janez Jansa's economic college is to be in session at 10 AM to debate the construction of the chain of hydro power plants on the lower Sava River. A press release is to be circulated following the session.
MARIBOR - Supervisors of Slovenia's second-largest bank, NKBM, are to discuss an internal audit report on whether the bank has been abusing data about its clients after media reports recently alleged so.

LJUBLJANA - Market research and polling firm CATI is to present a list of top ten brand names in Slovenia and the changes in comparison with 2004 at a news conference dubbed "ethnocentric trends on the retail market" at 11 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to resume its February session at 10 AM. The day's agenda includes the second readings of the companies act and changes to the classified information act as well as a debate on legislation that would create 12 new municipalities. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Nadja Podobnik is to take over as the new editor-in-chief of the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) for a period of four years. Podobnik, 36, has been the editor of STA's foreign desk since 2001.
MARIBOR - Milan Predan is to take over as the new director of newspaper publisher Vecer after he was voted into the office in February. Predan is returning to Vecer after he was the daily's editor-in-chief between 1991 and 2000.
LJUBLJANA - Development Minister Joze P. Damijan and Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant are to attend a conference on government-sponsored reforms and the public sector; news conference at noon.
LJUBLJANA - The Open Society Institute and the Peace Institute are to present a report on television in Europe, focusing on how television is regulated in Slovenia; at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Medical supplies manufacturer Tosama is to present its business results for 2005 and plans for 2006 at a news conference at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - PM Janez Jansa will be the speaker of honour at the national ceremony marking World Civil Protection Day at 1 PM.
LIPICA - The head of the supervisory board of the stud farm Kobilarna Lipica, Mihael Brejc, is to speak to the press at 12:30 PM following a board's session.
VENICE, Italy - The Slovenian gallery "A+A" is to host an exhibition featuring the works of Tomo Podgornik and Emerik Bernard - two of the finest Slovenian modernist painters - from the 1976-1980 period. The show opens at 6 PM and closes on 7 April.
LARNAKA, Cyprus - Slovenia are to play the winner of the Romania/Armenia match in a friendly football tournament at 4 PM CET.
