Parliament Creates 12 New Municipalities, 8 More in the Pipeline

Ljubljana, 1 March - Lawmakers have confirmed the creation of 12 new municipalities in line with amendments to the act on the establishment of municipalities, despite concerns by opposition as well as coalition lawmakers that the people's will was not considered in all cases. The amendments were passed in a 45-to-8 vote on Wednesday.
