Ljubljana, 21 March - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 22 March:
LJUBLJANA - PM Janez Jansa is to speak about his attendance of the 23-24 March EU summit at a news conference at 1 PM. According to a source in Brussels, he is to be one of the summit's keynote speakers about the Lisbon Strategy. (STA)
SLOVENJ GRADEC - Car seat-cover maker Prevent, one of Slovenia's leading exporters, is to hold a news conference at 9 AM to present the reasons behind streamlining measures. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The government is to discuss at its regular weekly session changes to the road safety act and a bill on electronic transactions, among other items on its agenda. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The deputy faction of the smallest coalition party, the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS), is to speak to the press at noon about the party's status in the ruling coalition.
LJUBLJANA - Four Slovenian charities (Red Cross, Karitas, UNICEF and Foundation Together) are to outline the ongoing "World for Darfur" fund-raising campaign at a news conference scheduled for noon.

LJUBLJANA - The association of 20 trade unions, Konfederacija sindikatov 90, is to meet for its 4th congress at 9 AM to discuss a report on the work since the last congress and elect a new leadership. The confederation was established 15 years ago.
LJUBLJANA - Ambassador of South African Republic to Slovenia Leslie Mbangambi Gumbi and Latvian Ambassador Aivars Groza are to separately present their credentials to President Janez Drnovsek at 11 AM and 12:30 PM.
BERLIN, Germany - State Secretary at the Office for Local Government and Regional Policy Franci Rokavec is to begin a three-day visit to Berlin, to meet Volkmar Strauch of the city of Berlin.
LJUBLJANA - Shareholders of leather company Industrija usnja Vrhnika (IUV) are to elect their new representatives to the supervisory board. Supervisors would then soon have to appoint a new management as CEO Anita Licen's term in office expires on 31 March; at noon.
LJUBLJANA - Cross-country runner Petra Majdic is to speak to the press at noon upon the end of the skiing season. Majdic had a successful season, finishing 6th in the 10 km classical event at the Turin Olympics in what was Slovenia's best finish in Turin.
