Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 25 to 31 March

Ljubljana, 1 April - European Regional Policy Commissioner Danuta Huebner visited Slovenia, and expressed a hope that the country would be prepared to draw EU funds in the next budget period, as there should be much more money available for it than so far. A Council of Europe report on human rights established that Slovenia should do more to safeguard minority rights and tackle homophobia. Meanwhile, some 70 writers from around the world flocked to Bled to discuss the role of literature in the globalised world at a traditional PEN International meeting.
