Ljubljana, 2 April - Schedule of events in the week from 3 to 9 April:

MONDAY, 3 April
        SOFIA, Bulgaria - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is expected for a working visit in Bulgaria, where he will meet his counterpart Vesselin Vitanov Bliznakov.
        BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is scheduled to attend a two-day annual meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank.
        MARIBOR - The Maribor Economics and Business Faculty will present its education programme for members of supervisory boards and management boards who have been or will be appointed to such bodies by the state.
        LJUBLJANA - Economics Ministry will stage a news conference on the companies bill and priority tasks of the internal market directorate.

TUESDAY, 4 April
        LJUBLJANA - The MPs are expected to wrap-up the 15th session of parliament with a vote on the companies bill and on the bill on Slovenians abroad.
        BUCHAREST, Romania - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to travel for a two-day official visit to Romania, where he will meet his counterpart Teodor Atanasiu.
        LJUBLJANA - Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek will speak about current issues at a news conference.
        LJUBLJANA - Life insurer Slovenica Zivljenje will present its new management board and business results for 2005 at a news conference.

WEDNESDAY, 5 April
        GORNJA RADGONA - Transport Minister Janez Bozic is expected at a session of a committee on overseeing the construction of motorways in the Prekmurje region (NE).
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's Chamber of Doctors will stage a news conference on the privatisation of the health sector.
        LJUBLJANA - The Ljubljana student organisation (SOU) is expected to stage a round-table debate entitled "Is Studying Really Free Nowadays?".
        LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Tourist Board will present its ads aimed at increasing the country's recognizability as a tourist destination.
        PORTOROZ - The two-day 7th conference on public tenders, organised by the Management Agency company in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, is set to start.
        SHANGHAI, China - Beginning of the 8th Short Course World Championships, with Slovenia represented by Peter Mankoc and Miha Koren. Mankoc, the defending champion in in 100 metre medley is aiming for another gold at the meet which will last until 9 April.

THURSDAY, 6 April
        LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is expected to meet at its regular weekly session.
        LJUBLJANA - The National Electoral Commission will meet at a session dedicated to the preparations for the 9 April referendum on establishing eight new municipalities.
        ZAGREB, Croatia - Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak is scheduled to attend a meeting of the Crans Montana forum.
        PORTOROZ - The Manager Association will stage a two-day spring meeting on Slovenia's position on the global market.
        BLED - Beginning of the 13th Days of Association of Tax Consultants, organised by the namesake association. The meeting will close on Saturday.

FRIDAY, 7 April
        VIENNA, Austria - A two-day informal meeting of the EU's finance ministers, also to be attended by Slovenia's Andrej Bajuk.
        BLED - The European Federation of Journalists will begin a three-day general assembly, organised by the Trade Union of Slovenian Journalists and the Slovene Association of Journalists.
        BELTINCI - A meeting of the government committee on the protection of the Roma Minority, also to be attended by Education Minister Milan Zver.
        CELJE - The graphic and printing company Cetis will present its 2005 results at a news conference.
        ALGIERS, Algeria - Slovenia is to play Algeria in the first round of the second Euro-African group of the Davis Cup in tennis.
        KRANJ - Slovenia is to play against France in the first match of the qualifiers for the water polo European Championships, with the first two teams set to qualify for the championships.

SATURDAY, 8 April
        MURSKA SOBOTA - A celebration to mark the World Roma Day will be organised by the Slovenian Roma Association. President Janez Drnovsek is slated to be the keynote speaker at the event.
        ALGIERS, Algeria - Slovenia is to play Algeria in the first round of the second Euro-African group of the Davis Cup in tennis.
        KRANJ - Slovenia is to play against Malta in the second match of the qualifiers for the water polo European Championships.

SUNDAY, 9 April
        LJUBLJANA - A non-binding referendum on establishing eight new municipalities will take place around the country.
        KRANJ - Slovenia is to play against Slovakia in the last match of the qualifiers for the water polo European Championships.
