Ljubljana, 3 April - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 4 April:

LJUBLJANA - The MPs are expected to wrap up the March session of parliament with votes on the new companies bill and a bill on Slovenians abroad, as well as a general debate on the chambers of commerce bill; at 9 AM. (STA)

BUCHAREST, Romania - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to begin a two-day official visit to Romania, where he is to meet his counterpart Teodor Atanasiu. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to speak about current issues at a news conference scheduled for 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Bojan Trnovsek, the director general of the Interior Ministry's directorate for administrative internal affairs, is to speak to the press at 9:30 AM to comment on the Constitutional Court's decision to stay the execution of several provisions of the asylum act.

LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to address students attending a diplomatic seminar of AEGEE Ljubljana, the Ljubljana branch of the European student's forum. The lecture, entitled "The Future of Diplomacy" is scheduled for 9 AM.

KRANJ - The troubled maker of electric meters Iskraemeco is to talk to the press at 11 AM about its bankruptcy protection, which it entered on 20 February. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - A conference on management in the judiciary is to get underway at 9 AM. The event, organised by business education and information firms Planet GV and IUS Software, it to look into wages and staffing in the judiciary.

MARIBOR - A panel on the role of Slovenian companies in international projects, with participation by Economics Ministry State Secretary Andrijana Starina Kosem and Zdenko Pavcek, the CEO of logistics group Viator&Vektor, is to be held as part of the Project Days organised by the Maribor Faculty of Business and Economics; at 2:30 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The Education Ministry and the National Council are to host a public debate on the development of education programmes at noon.

VIENNA, Austria - Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti is to meet Austria's State Secretary for Art and Media Franz Morak during an unofficial visit to Vienna. He is to attend the opening of an Andrej Jemec exhibition at the Palais Porcia at 6 PM.

LJUBLJANA - A ceremony is to be held at noon to mark a US donation to the Slovenian-run demining fund (ITF).

LJUBLJANA - Life insurer Slovenica Zivljenje is to present its new management board and business results for 2005 at a news conference at 11:30 AM.

MARIBOR - Magda Zezlina, the health service ombudswoman for the area of Maribor, is to hold a press conference at 10 AM to present her work in 2005.

LJUBLJANA - A trial is to begin at 10 AM at the Ljubljana Local Court against Joze Stanic, the former CEO of home appliances maker Gorenje, who is accused of insider trading.

GORNJA RADGONA - The 19th International Building and Building Materials Fair is to get underway at noon, with the attendance of Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik.
