Schedule of Events for Thursday, 13 April

Ljubljana, 12 April - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 13 April:

LJUBLJANA - The traditional meeting of financial experts, "Capital 2006", is to end with a panel on who Slovenian companies should be sold to, or whether they should be sold at all; begins at 3 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Constitutional Court is to host at 9 AM a public debate as part of establishing constitutionality of several pieces of legislation regarding the salaries of judges. A planned cut in salaries has stirred a lot of discontent among judges.

LJUBLJANA - The government is to meet for its weekly session to discuss among other pieces of legislation changes to the insurance act and to the act on the enforcement of penal sentences. A press conference scheduled for 2 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The leadership of the opposition Social Democrats (SD) is to meet at 4:30 PM for a closed-door session, with the party leader Borut Pahor expected to speak to the press at 6 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The country's largest bank, NLB, is to host a meeting with journalists at 11 AM to outline the adjustment of its IT to the forthcoming euro adoption.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Association of Journalists is to confer the 2005 Consortium Veritatis awards at a special ceremony scheduled for 7 PM. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - The 11th Slovenian Book Days are to be presented at a news conference at 11 AM. The festival is to begin on 22 April, on the eve of World Book and Copyright Day.
