WASHINGTON, US - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk will be taking part in a two-day spring session of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He is also expected to meet the IMF and WB presidents, Willy Kiekens and Gino Alzetto.

BOAO, China - President Janez Drnovsek will be taking part in the fifth annual Boao Forum for Asia 2006 in the seaside resort Boao on the island of Hainan, which is to focus on new opportunities for Asia and directing development into the next phase.

LJUBLJANA - The conference of the Liberal Democrats (LDS), the largest opposition party, is to debate at 10 AM a new manifesto whose aim is to find a way out of the pragmatism that defined its long rule, and position the LDS as a liberal party. (STA)

ROGASKA SLATINA - The council of the ruling Slovenian Democrats (SDS) is to discuss topical issues and the party's preparations for the autumn local elections. The chair of the council Branko Grims is to speak to the press at 1 PM.

GRAZ, Austria - An informal two-day meeting of EU ministers in charge of competition is to conclude, attended also by Slovenian Higher Education Minister Jure Zupan and Economics Ministry State Secretary Andrijana Starina Kosem. The EU services directive and the EU research budget topping the agenda.

KRSKO - The Speedway Grand Prix Series (SGP), the world's highest-ranking speedway competition, will begin in Krsko at 7 PM, as the world's top 16 make their appearance at the Slovenian Grand Prix, including Slovenia's champion Matej Zagar.

SKOPJE, Macedonia - The Drama National Theatre from Ljubljana is to complete its four-day guest-appearance, one of the largest in Macedonia, with the production of Christopher Marlowe's "Edward II" directed by Diego de Brea.
