Ljubljana, 30 July - Schedule of events in the week from 31 July to 6 August:

MONDAY, 31 July
        LJUBLJANA - Prime Minister Janez Jansa is expected to discuss topical political events at a press conference.
        BRDO PRI KRANJU - Parliamentary Speaker France Cukjati is to meet Lyubov Sliska, the first deputy chairwoman of the State Duma (the lower house of the Russian parliament).
        LJUBLJANA - Head of the parliamentary EU affairs committee Anton Kokalj is to present to the press Slovenia's preparations for its stint to chair over the EU in the first half of 2008, alongside other topics.

TUESDAY, 1 August
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - EU foreign ministers, including Slovenia's Dimitrij Rupel, are to discuss the Middle East crisis at an extraordinary meeting.
        LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions (ZSSS), Slovenia's largest trade union, is to present its views to the tax proposals recently outlined by the Finance Ministry.
        LJUBLJANA - The month-long Trnovo Summer Festival, popularly known as Trnfest, will kick-off with the Macedonian Kurtis Brass Band.

WEDNESDAY, 2 August
        PIRAN - Open house days at the tenth anniversary of the christening of the Slovenian Navy's fast patrol boat Ankaran.

THURSDAY, 3 August
        OTOCEC - Pharmaceutical company Krka is to present its business results for the first half of 2006.
