LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary defence committee is to convene an emergency session at 10 AM. The MPs will examine a report on the work of Slovenian soldiers in Iraq at the request of the opposition Liberal Democrats (LDS) and Social Democrats (SD), which believe that a second rotation should not be sent to Iraq due to the deteriorating security situation. LJUBLJANA - The head of the Slovenian Democrats (SDS) deputy group Joze Tanko is to present his party's position on topical political matters at 1 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Soca oprema, which was selected to supply 19 operating tables to five hospitals, is to present the supply and installation of the equipment at a press conference at noon.

SINGAPORE - Slovenia will take on Spain at the outset of a three-day exhibition tournament (which also features Serbia & Montenegro and Argentina), a crucial warm-up before the Basketball World Championships taking place from 19 August to 3 September in Japan. The game starts at 2:30 CET. (STA)
