MONDAY, 14 August
BRNIK - The Slovenian Athletic Association is to hold a press conference upon the return of Slovenia's athletes from the European Athletics Championships in Sweden's Gothenburg.
ALEXANDRIA, Egypt - The Fifth International Summer Festival in Alexandria is to host a show by the Slovenian author Neda R. Bric "Trieste - Alessandria EMBARKED" about women from the Trieste, Gorizia and Karst regions, who at the end of the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century worked as governesses, maids or cooks in Alexandria.
TUESDAY, 15 August
LJUBLJANA - Slovenia celebrates Assumption Day, a bank holiday.
WEDNESDAY, 16 August
NOVO MESTO - The Environment Ministry is to hold a press conference to present the possibilities for drawing EU funds for environmental projects and the pilot project Krka.
GORNJA RADGONA - Fairgrounds company Pomurski sejem is to talk to the press to present this year's 44th Agriculture and Food Fair, to be held between 26 August and 1 September.
POSTOJNA - A press conference is to be held ahead of the 11th Erazem's knight tournament festival, which will take place at the venue of the Predjama Castle. The traditional tourist event is based on the historical records describing the castle and its owner, the famed knight Erazem of Predjama.
THURSDAY, 17 August
LJUBLJANA - The day of unification of the northeasternmost region of Prekmurje with Slovenia, a national holiday marked in remembrance of the day in 1919 when Prekmurje was declared as liberated and passed under the jurisdiction of the civil authorities.
LJUBLJANA - A press conference is scheduled ahead of the 10th Days of Poetry and Wine, an international poetry festival, which is to be held between 22 and 26 August at its traditional venue in the village of Medana in Goriska Brda, western Slovenia.
LJUBLJANA - The show "Roadmetal Sweetbread", performed by the UK theatre ensemble Station House Opera, is to open the international theatre and dance festival Young Lions, which is to close on 27 August.
PIRAN - A press conference is to be held ahead of the Tartini Festival, the international summer festival of classical music, which is to take place between 26 August and 16 September in the seaside town of Piran.
FRIDAY, 18 August
BELTINCI - A ceremony is to mark the day of unification of the northeasternmost region Prekmurje with Slovenia, a national holiday celebrated on 17 August, with Prime Minister Janez Jansa expected to attend as the keynote speaker.
SATURDAY, 19 August
TARVISIO, Italy - Bishops and priests from Slovenia, Italy and Austria, including Ljubljana Archbishop and Metropolitan Alojz Uran, are to attend the 24th traditional "Meeting of Three Countries".
TOLMIN - Celje Bishop Anton Stress is to give mass for peace and for the victims of the World War I.
