Annexation of Prekmurje Remembered as National Holiday

Murska Sobota, 17 August - A national holiday marking the unification of Slovenia's northeasternmost region of Prekmurje with the then Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in 1919 will be marked for the first time in Slovenia on Thursday. The central ceremony, featuring PM Janez Jansa as the speaker of honour, will take place on Friday.
