Schedule of Events for Friday, 1 September

Ljubljana, 31 August - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 1 September:

LAPPEENRANTA, Finland - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to take part in an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers. The agenda of the two-day event includes the Middle East, Iran and Russia.

LJUBLJANA - Labour Minister Janez Drobnic is to present the roadmap for negotiations on the labour relationships act at 1 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm, who is the head of the government commission on religious communities, is scheduled to hold a meeting with the new head of the Muslim community in Slovenia, Mufti Nedzad Grabus, at 11 AM.

SLOVENIA - Some 165,000 primary school children and around 100,000 high school pupils are to be back at school on the first day of September for the start of the new school year. STA will release a feature about the new school year. (STA)

OPICINA, Italy - Draga, the traditional three-day meeting of Slovenian intellectuals is scheduled to start at 4:30 PM. This year the discussions will revolve around minority culture and the nation's soul.

GORNJA RADGONA - The last day of the International Agriculture and Food Fair will focus on fruit growing and integrated farming. The Austrian province of Styria will also be in the spotlight.
