Ljubljana, 1 November - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 2 November:

LJUBLJANA - The parliament is expected to wrap up the government-sponsored tax reform package with the passage of the bill on inheritance, the last of the government-proposed tax laws. The session starts at 9 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk and State Secretary for Taxes Andrej Sircelj are to provide a final assessment of the tax reform package. Most of the laws have already been passed by the parliament. The press conference starts at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The National Council, the upper chamber of parliament, is to discuss at 2 PM a motion to veto the recently passed act on the harmonisation of transfers to households and individuals. Employees believe that the law is unfair to the poorest people.

NOVA GORICA - A panel on improving competitiveness and entrepreneurship in tourism is to feature the chairman of casino operator Hit Niko Trost and the heads of the Economy Ministry's directorates for entrepreneurship and tourism, Andrej Kitanovski and Marjan Hribar. The debate gets underway at 5 PM.

DUBLIN, Ireland - Labour Minister Janez Drobnic is to take part in the Foundation Forum 2006 on living standards and working conditions as part of his three-day visit to the Irish capital.

LJUBLJANA - Alain Pompidou, the head of the European Patent Office, is to meet Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak and representatives of the Intellectual Property Office during his visit to Slovenia.

MARIBOR - The Izzven jazz festival is to kick off at 7:30 PM with a concert by American artist Joey Baron. The festival runs until 7 November.
