Ljubljana, 2 November - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 3 November:

LJUBLJANA - A press conference is scheduled for 10:30 AM at which Alojz Peterle's bid for the 2007 presidential poll is to be presented. Peterle, a member of the European Parliament for the coalition New Slovenia (NSi/EPP), is to stand with the support of a group of voters. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - Parliament will convene at 9 AM for the final day of the October sitting. The agenda includes the general debate on the act on the financing of municipalities and the general debate on the opposition-sponsored bill on patient's rights.

LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to confer at a ceremony at noon the Golden Order for Services on Archbishop and Metropolitan of Maribor Franc Kramberger for his exceptional contribution to the nation's development and for 25 years of service as Maribor bishop. (STA)

VERONA, Italy - EU transport ministers, including Slovenia's Janez Bozic, are to begin a conference on road safety.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary foreign policy committee and the EU affairs committee will convene separate closed-door sessions at 8 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The Culture Ministry is to host a press conference at 11 AM to outline the achievements and future plans of the institution running the Lipica Stud Farm.
