Finance Committee Endorses Amended 2008 Budget Bill

Ljubljana, 13 November - The parliament's finance and monetary policy committee on Monday endorsed the 2008 budget bill that was amended by the government last week. Since the amendments envisage only minor re-distributions of funds, the debate focused on the still open option that value added tax might be raised next year to compensate for the projected shortfall of revenues due to lower income and payroll tax.
