Ljubljana, 15 November - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 16 November:

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to convene an extraordinary session at 10 AM to debate the 2007 and the 2008 budgets. The MPs are also expected to discuss the act on the financing of municipalities and amendments to the act on excise duties. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to meet for its regular session at which it is expected to debate the amendments to the act on railroad transport. A press conference is scheduled for after the session at 2 PM. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - CoE Human Rights Commissioner Thomas Hammarberg is to speak to the press at 9 AM to present his position on the controversy surrounding the relocation of a Roma family. LJUBLJANA - Amnesty International Slovenije is to hold a press conference at 11 AM to present a report on the exclusion of the Roma children from primary education in Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - The parliament's interior policy, public administration and justice committee is to discuss the handling of the relocation of a Roma family at the behest of an opposition party. A marathon session is expected, due to begin at 8 AM.

SVETI STEFAN, Montenegro - President Janez Drnovsek is to attend the 3rd forum on economic development of SE Europe.

LJUBLJANA - The Euro-Mediterranean summit of economic and social councils and similar institutions is set to continue with a 9 AM session expected to be attended by PM Janez Jansa, Dimitris Dimitriadis, the president of the European Economic and Social Committee, and Dusan Rebolj, the head of the Slovenian Economic and Social Council. Dimitriadis and Rebolj are also expected to take part in a press conference at 10:30 AM, along with Labour, Family and Social Affairs Minister Janez Drobnic. (STA)

PORTOROZ - A two-day business conference discussing the development of the financial and real sector in transitional economies is to get underway at 9:30 AM. As part of the event sponsored by business daily Finance a survey on the development of financial markets in SE Europe is to be unveiled at 10 AM. One of the panels is to be addressed by Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk.

LJUBLJANA - Janez Lenarcic, the head of the Government Office for European Affairs (SVEZ), is to meet Tanja Miscevic, the head of the Serbian office for EU accession. The pair is expected to discuss preparations for Slovenia's EU presidency and its assistance in Serbia's progress towards the block.

LJUBLJANA - Simon Horner, the information officer of the EU Human Rights Department (ECHO), is due to meet at 3 PM representatives of NGOs for development cooperation and humanitarian aid.

NOVO MESTO - Pharma Company Krka is to hold a press conference at 1 PM to present its results for the first nine months of 2006. (STA/PHOTO)

PORTOROZ - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to host a two-day conference on real estate.

ANKARAN - The Association of Journalists is to organise a three-day annual conference "Journalism Days 2006". The event is to get underway at 11 AM.

KRANJSKA GORA - The 4th Days of European Law are to kick off at 1 PM. The three-day event is organised by the firm GV Izobrazevanje, the Institute for European Studies and the Academy of European Law.

LJUBLJANA - The Liberal Academy, a group of left-leaning intellectuals, is to host a press conference on Slovenia's culture policy at 11 AM.

MALAGA, Spain - Slovenia's Union Olimpija are to take on Spain's Unicaja Malaga in the 4th round of the Euroleague, Europe's premiere basketball competition. The tip-off is at 8:45 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The National Gallery is to open at 7 PM an exhibition of medieval scripts from the Zicka Kartuzija Monastery.

NOVA GORICA - Organisers of the Pixxelpoint digital art festival are to stage a press conference at 11 AM to present the event that will be taking place between 24 November and 1 December.

LJUBLJANA - The 9th Slovenian Wine Festival is to begin at 1 PM.
