Issue of Erased Discussed in European Parliament
Ljubljana, 17 November - Two Italian MEPs raised the issue of Ali Berisha, an erased Roma facing deportation from Slovenia, in the European Parliament on Thursday. Giusto Catania and Roberto Musacchio (both GUE/NGL) called for the protection of human rights in the case of Berisha and other Slovenian residents who were unlawfully removed from the country's registry of permanent residents in 1992. In a new development, Berisha was allowed to return to the Ljubljana asylum-seekers home.
